Non-receipt of books

I ordered 3 books at the end of December and 3 more in January. I have not received any of them, and have received no notification of them shipping. I would like my books.

I am having the same issue with Mystery Guild. I ordered a book and it was released on 3/5/24.

So far my emails have remained unanswered. What is going on with them?

User's recommendation: I have been ordering from this company for about 20 years. This is the first time I have had a problem. I do not know if it's the bad weather we've been having or what. Normally, I would give them an A+ rating.

I mailed the most recent member reply form. It was returned by the post office as undeliverable.

I am certain that the guild will send me books I indicated on the form that I did Not want and expect me to pay postage to return them. I am sure the reply form will not get to the guild address on the envelop before the deadline. The problem may be with the post office however the member reply envelope was sent to me by the guild. I will send it out again in my own envelop.

Cannot get my order to connect with mystery guild on internet. The web site will accept my decision to accept/not accept monthly books but will not accept the order for other books I wanted to purchase

as a member of mystery guild for many years i was shocked when i placed my last order of 3 books and you canceled my order and my membership. i have a new credit card and didnt think about it when i placed my order. instead of the option of editing or filling in my new number i was canceled. very poor way to treat your customers.

IDIOTS

A family member has been in this club for literally YEARS......pays as the books show up. Yet, these fools keep saying that she owes up to a few hundred dollars! WRONG....if the club communicated with the return center....see where I'm going with this??? If she didn't order it, DON'T SEND IT *** If she sent it back because she didn't order it, A COMPLETE F**KHEAD WOULD KNOW THAT SHE DOES NOT OWE FOR SAID FREAKIN BOOK! HEEELLLOOOOOOO

Customer service

I purchased books in Oct. & Nov. 2018. In Oct. I received my books, and sent a check the following day, the check was cashed on 10/22/18 (copy returned from bank). The following month I received books, and sent a check. On Nov. 16th I received a statement stating I owed $109.46, one check had been cashed, and the other was on it's way.

I've tried calling customer service, been left on HOLD each time for over 45 minutes, with no response.

This happened to me a few years back, it took MONTHS to resolve. When I finally spoke with someone knowledgeable,

I had a credit due.

Since I refuse to wait on the phone, (for what could be hours at a time, I'm not sure if this will ever be resolved!

The longer I am a member the worse the service has become, have searched for other clubs but seem to stay with it. They just don't improve but for the prices you would think they would have more pride in their business practices. Maybe a company from India could start up and take over!

I'm out!

I have been a member of the Mystery Guild (not on line) for at least 20 years. Several weeks ago I received a notice (by mail) that there was a past due balance of $31.45.

In fact I had just mailed the check about 5 days earlier. But truthfully don't know how tardy the payment was. I had never had a notice before in all of my membership time. And never for 1 overdue payment.

I am royally p....d. So this is how loyal customers are treated now? I am unsubscribing to the Guild as of the message. The phone's never answered and nowhere on line can I find a place to unsubscribe.

I think it's time to cut the cord and go to Barnes and Noble for my reading selections.

Mystery Guild used to be a wonderful site for mystery book lovers... However, ever since they've been under new management - they've tanked and you WILL be disappointed in the service, quality of books & bogus billing!! I recently ordered a "cat mystery" book (no. 3 in a series) & the newest title out. After paying full price, as before, I received a poor-quality PAPERBACK instead of the usual hardback (fair quality)! There are also many recurring problems with charges to my credit card ... unauthorized, overcharged, confusing charges ... very, very bad! Sad - but I think I'm leaving after some 15 yrs as a good customer. Not much choice ...

Refund From Mystery Guild Book Review

Was charged for 2 credits, even though the box told asked me twice if I want to buy. I hit both denies. No I see you charged me anyway. I want a refund for the full amount you took from my bank.

Mystery Guild's "monthly payment"

I called MG because I had noticed a charge on my credit card. The rep told me that the $25+ was for credits I had received and I had not canceled. So I thought since, somehow I had paid for a book, I might as well order one. Then I got this month's credit card statement and I say another charge from Mystery Guild. I checked my statements back to January 2016(I admit I should have been doing this). I found that each month I had been charged $27.98. I have not bought one book. What I intend to do is call and find out how many books I can buy with what I have been charged and then I will end my membership. I plan to record this conversation and to notify my bank not to pay anything MG charges me.

Membership cancellation

Last month, I cancelled my membership. I didn't receive my shipment, even though the payment was debited from my checking account. I didn't contact Mystery Guild (my fault...couldn't remember to). Also, hours at work are very limited now, so I can't afford the membership at the present time. Even though I cancelled my membership, and it was acknowledged, the payment for the current offer was just debited from my checking account. I have sent an email to Mystery Guild to credit my checking account...the shipment will be returned. I will change my debit card to a new number...no more payments will be debited. Why was my cancellation notice ignored?

Now you understand why using a debit card, which allows someone to take money directly from your account is so dangerous. Best use a credit card.
